On Integration

The original meaning of the word, integration, is ‘to render whole.’

The world is messy. Strife is everywhere. Light feels fleeting. Much is being stripped. We’re weary. And our truths feel consistently on trial.

We are being rendered, friends.

The fire of polarization is hot. Apathy feels easier. But let us all keep rising anyway to offer our best; a hand, a hug, or an ear. Daily; even if it requires a full pot of coffee.

Offering empathy, looking one another in the eye, listening. This is the work we are called to do to make our future whole.
