Sometimes we don’t take courageous action because we simply don’t know what we really, deeply want.
So we stay put, waiting for clarity to arrive before we make a move. Waiting for assurance, insurance, or the perception of security to step forward and guide us.
We wait. We stick it out, we don’t make any sudden moves into the unknown without a game plan.
We allow the ‘this is good but not quite a hell yes’ to take our time, energy, and focus. ‘Wait until the way is clear,’ we say.
Except clarity does not always work that way. Clarity doesn’t arrive like a guest we invite to a dinner party; clarity is cultivated from within, sharpened by our intuition and our willingness to practice our courage at the deepest level.
Sometimes the first piece of our clarity is NOT THIS.
And sometimes the second piece of our clarity doesn’t come into intuitive view UNTIL we take courageous action on NOT THIS.
Courage in practice can embody a multitude of forms yet is often about following the subtle nudges, even when they are made of little more than NOT THIS.
Forever with you in this practice, friends.
