April Abundance

welcome to april

May we begin April by choosing abundance.

  • Begin to look for what we already have rather than what we don’t.

  • Begin to release what we no longer need to those who are in need.

  • Begin to create habits that support our health and wealth.

  • Begin to appreciate people we encounter more intentionally.

  • Begin and end each day with gratitude in a specific way.

  • Begin to show our love more honestly & courageously.

  • Begin to ask better questions to develop our minds & hearts.

  • Begin to approach each challenge with a focus of opportunity.

  • Begin choosing presence AS our purpose.

Choosing abundance in all moments and situations begins with courage. When life holds challenges, we can often feel far from abundance. We think x, y, or z has to happen before we can experience it. This simply isn’t true.

When we awaken to the abundance we already have, we courageously open ourselves up to goodness no matter the challenge before us.

My mother taught me this in the way she died. She consistently chose abundance in her presence, words, and actions even when facing the end of her life. The day she died, I remember her telling me it was ‘a very good day’ as she smiled at the sun shining through the window onto her hospital bed. Despite immense pain, she greeted every doctor and nurse with a ‘good morning’ or ‘good afternoon’ as they came by her room with morphine.

Several of them couldn’t understand why she didn’t just say ‘morning’ since there didn’t appear to be any ‘good’ in it. Her reply was a small smile and a reminder that every breath is a good one.

April was my mother’s favorite month of the year — so full of new growth, opportunity, and the promise of life and new beginnings. Join me this month in practicing abundance by looking for what you already have even as you strive for more of what you desire.

What is better than choosing abundance?
