External influences abound everywhere, each competing for our attention, reaction, or response. However, our unique practice of courage is found within us. Choose a specific way to quiet the external voices so you can listen closely your inner one. 

 

JANUARY 28 - FEBRUARY 3, 2018: CURIOSITY STOKES PASSION.

Curiosity is the birthplace of passion. When we feel unclear of our purpose, it is essential to return to our curiosity. What provokes our thought and draws our engagement? Curiosity can lead us to our passion. So begin there.

FEBRUARY 4 - 10, 2018: TAKE BACK YOUR STORY.

Where do you feel disconnected to your story? We all lose our way from time to time--that's real and true--but it doesn't mean we have to stay there. Choosing to take back our stories in leadership and life first requires choice, then requires courage. Choose this week to really notice the relationship you have with your own story. Awareness paves the way for action. 

 

FEBRUARY 11 - 17, 2018: CHOOSE JOY.

Happiness is the external manifestation of inner joy. We seek out happiness through experiences and connections--all of which are good and rich with abundance in this life. However, we seldom find joy unless we begin from within to create joy. Unlike happiness, joy is a subtle force and rather agnostic to external influences. Joy resides at the intersection of goodness and lightness; when we embrace the goodness and elect to travel lightly. Simply put, joy chooses us when we choose joy. 

 

FEBRUARY 18 - 24, 2018: OBSERVE.

When we think less and observe more, we can begin to see ourselves with more compassion and less judgment. Imagine observing yourself for a moment -- what do you see? Go ahead, try it right now for a moment, observe yourself. What do you see?

As you return, I ask you this: did you simply observe yourself or did you immediately redirect into thinking about what you see? Wondering why you see what you see, how to shift what you see, how to accept what you see, the list goes on... It is definitely not easy but 3/4 observing and 1/4 thinking will serve our integration far more than 1/4 observing and 3/4 thinking. Read on for ways to practice this week...

 

FEBRUARY 25 - MARCH 3, 2018: SHOW UP ANYWAY.

Being ready is an illusion. I've fallen for this illusion myself so many times. 'When I'm more ready, then I'll show up. When I'm in a better position or have more clarity, then I'll leap.' It is a wild truth but courage can be both our friend and our greatest ally when we aren't feeling ready. Courage can be what we lean on to show up anyway--instead of waiting for the arrival of an illusion. The best part? Placing our trust in our courage rather than our readiness will actually cultivate our confidence. Sincerely.

MARCH 18 - 24, 2018: BE WHO YOU ARE IN WHAT YOU DO.

We wear many hats in this life. Being authentically ourselves in all of them is the practice of mindful integration and the difference between owning our responsibilities and being enslaved to them. 

When we know ourselves and then show up as ourselves first, we have more energy to offer because we aren't using all that extra energy to 'fake it until we make it.' Our minds are sharp, our eyes and ears awake, and our hands open.

 

MARCH 25 - 31, 2018: LET FALL WHAT IS MEANT TO FALL

Like the seasons, there are people, places, situations, and things which rise and fall in our lives. Holding all loosely cultivates harmony within us whereas clinging to what is not actually ours is often the bedrock of our anxiety, fear, and doubt.

Letting things fall away is sometimes easy, sometimes hard, sometimes excruciating. But when we open our hands and release, we create space for what is meant to rise within us and in our lives. Seeking to shed the weight no longer serving us gives lightness to our journey and opens us up for new abundance.

APRIL 1 - 7, 2018: LET RISE WHAT IS MEANT TO RISE

Like the seasons, there are people, places, challenges, and joys which rise and fall in our lives. Understanding what must fall, as we explored last week, is essential to opening ourselves up for what desires to rise--within us and within our lives.

When we attempt to orchestrate what we wish to rise, we get in the way of what is meant for us. So be still and allow the Universe to work. Our rising is not ours to claim; our rising is ours to accept as it unfolds. We will know it is our rising when we have come home more fully to ourselves. 

 

APRIL 8 - 14, 2018: WHAT WE FOCUS ON, GROWS.

The universe is listening to us. It hears how we think, how we act, what we lean into with our energy, focus, words, and actions...or inactions. Where we place our mindfulness is essential to deepen and expand where we want it most in this life. Every thought leader, sage, wisdom tradition, and form of scripture speaks to this reality in some form. Simply because it is universally true regardless of our histories, faith traditions, and life stories. This week, let's begin again to focus on what we want, take conscious, self-compassionate action, and then get out of the universe's way.

The path you are on has been forged for you. And by you. Its twists, turns, and earthly terrain have been rising up to meet you for centuries. The path we are on is the path to deeper learning, the way of integration, and the way to becoming more ourselves. We hold the power to change course but listening to our path is equally important.When we reject our current path, we reject what we are meant to experience to step into our highest purpose. Wherever we are today, may we offer gratitude and keep walking. 

 

APRIL 29 - MAY 5, 2018: BE PRESENT. 

Being present is a deeply courageous choice. It means showing up as we are right now, embracing this present moment for what it is rather than orchestrating it to be something else. Being present means choosing now regardless of life's weather. Being present now also means releasing lamentations of the past and refraining from future-tripping, even if we do so in contemplation of our highest good. What is sincerely for us will unfold before us; hard work is essential, yes, but so is being present to engage what is meant for us in order to grow, evolve, and integrate who we are in all we do. Simply put, being present now ensures we never miss what is for us when it arrives.

Surrender to what is, opening your hands to this present moment. Surrender is not resignation; it is accepting what is without internal resistance. Whatever our reality, we can learn to surrender by releasing our inner resistance to it. Authentic acceptance of the present can become the alchemist for our growth, integration, and transformation. 

 

MAY 20 - 26, 2018: LOVE THE SCARS

Every scar is an integral part of our story. Each one represents our shaping, our courage, our evolution, our practice. We need to love all our ourselves, including our scars, to authentically step into the fullness of who we really are.

WEEKLY INTENTIONS: JUNE 2018

JUNE 3 - 9, 2018: THERE ARE NO MISTAKES

What would you do this week if you believed there are no mistakes? We often attempt to manage or coordinate our actions to avoid falling or failing. We think that by avoiding or mitigating situations where pain will arise, we can navigate life with more ease. Yet all we're really doing is avoiding life to avoid pain. Lean into life this week; all of it, even the pain. Allow mistakes to occur; name them, own them, forgive them for they are simply telling you to move in a new direction. Allow all to be your teacher.

 

JUNE 10 - 16, 2018: LISTEN TO RESONANCE. 

What does resonance mean to you? The oldest definition of resonance is 'the quality of being deep, full, and reverberating to the soul.' Since then, we've evolved the definition to focus mostly on sounds. However, resonance can be found in every sense of our human experience. Resonance shows up in our thoughts, actions, bodies, and goals, to name a few. As we listen, we begin to notice where it exists and where it does not. This step is an essential part of our integration -- to integrate only what resonates further into our lives and to let the rest fall away. 

 

JUNE 17 - 23, 2018: ONE COURAGEOUS THING

Courage in practice can feel ethereal at times--something we can discuss ad nauseam yet challenging to wrap our arms and actions around in a really tangible way. So let's begin this week by choosing one thing -- one courageous thing we will do to move ourselves closer to our highest good. To leading, living, and loving more consciously. Just one thing, friends.
