Our communities are full of boundless energy. But which energy serves us? And what depletes us? Listen closely. Learn the difference. What specific energy uplifts, inspires, and empowers you? Find and create a tribe where your spirit is enlivened at the very thought of their company.

External influences abound everywhere, each competing for our attention, reaction, or response. However, our unique practice of courage is found within us. Choose a specific way to quiet the external voices so you can listen closely your inner one. 

 

JANUARY 28 - FEBRUARY 3, 2018: CURIOSITY STOKES PASSION.

Curiosity is the birthplace of passion. When we feel unclear of our purpose, it is essential to return to our curiosity. What provokes our thought and draws our engagement? Curiosity can lead us to our passion. So begin there.

FEBRUARY 4 - 10, 2018: TAKE BACK YOUR STORY.

Where do you feel disconnected to your story? We all lose our way from time to time--that's real and true--but it doesn't mean we have to stay there. Choosing to take back our stories in leadership and life first requires choice, then requires courage. Choose this week to really notice the relationship you have with your own story. Awareness paves the way for action. 

 

FEBRUARY 11 - 17, 2018: CHOOSE JOY.

Happiness is the external manifestation of inner joy. We seek out happiness through experiences and connections--all of which are good and rich with abundance in this life. However, we seldom find joy unless we begin from within to create joy. Unlike happiness, joy is a subtle force and rather agnostic to external influences. Joy resides at the intersection of goodness and lightness; when we embrace the goodness and elect to travel lightly. Simply put, joy chooses us when we choose joy. 

 

FEBRUARY 18 - 24, 2018: OBSERVE.

When we think less and observe more, we can begin to see ourselves with more compassion and less judgment. Imagine observing yourself for a moment -- what do you see? Go ahead, try it right now for a moment, observe yourself. What do you see?

As you return, I ask you this: did you simply observe yourself or did you immediately redirect into thinking about what you see? Wondering why you see what you see, how to shift what you see, how to accept what you see, the list goes on... It is definitely not easy but 3/4 observing and 1/4 thinking will serve our integration far more than 1/4 observing and 3/4 thinking. Read on for ways to practice this week...

 

FEBRUARY 25 - MARCH 3, 2018: SHOW UP ANYWAY.

Being ready is an illusion. I've fallen for this illusion myself so many times. 'When I'm more ready, then I'll show up. When I'm in a better position or have more clarity, then I'll leap.' It is a wild truth but courage can be both our friend and our greatest ally when we aren't feeling ready. Courage can be what we lean on to show up anyway--instead of waiting for the arrival of an illusion. The best part? Placing our trust in our courage rather than our readiness will actually cultivate our confidence. Sincerely.

MARCH 18 - 24, 2018: BE WHO YOU ARE IN WHAT YOU DO.

We wear many hats in this life. Being authentically ourselves in all of them is the practice of mindful integration and the difference between owning our responsibilities and being enslaved to them. 

When we know ourselves and then show up as ourselves first, we have more energy to offer because we aren't using all that extra energy to 'fake it until we make it.' Our minds are sharp, our eyes and ears awake, and our hands open.

 

MARCH 25 - 31, 2018: LET FALL WHAT IS MEANT TO FALL

Like the seasons, there are people, places, situations, and things which rise and fall in our lives. Holding all loosely cultivates harmony within us whereas clinging to what is not actually ours is often the bedrock of our anxiety, fear, and doubt.

Letting things fall away is sometimes easy, sometimes hard, sometimes excruciating. But when we open our hands and release, we create space for what is meant to rise within us and in our lives. Seeking to shed the weight no longer serving us gives lightness to our journey and opens us up for new abundance.

APRIL 1 - 7, 2018: LET RISE WHAT IS MEANT TO RISE

Like the seasons, there are people, places, challenges, and joys which rise and fall in our lives. Understanding what must fall, as we explored last week, is essential to opening ourselves up for what desires to rise--within us and within our lives.

When we attempt to orchestrate what we wish to rise, we get in the way of what is meant for us. So be still and allow the Universe to work. Our rising is not ours to claim; our rising is ours to accept as it unfolds. We will know it is our rising when we have come home more fully to ourselves. 

 

APRIL 8 - 14, 2018: WHAT WE FOCUS ON, GROWS.

The universe is listening to us. It hears how we think, how we act, what we lean into with our energy, focus, words, and actions...or inactions. Where we place our mindfulness is essential to deepen and expand where we want it most in this life. Every thought leader, sage, wisdom tradition, and form of scripture speaks to this reality in some form. Simply because it is universally true regardless of our histories, faith traditions, and life stories. This week, let's begin again to focus on what we want, take conscious, self-compassionate action, and then get out of the universe's way.

The path you are on has been forged for you. And by you. Its twists, turns, and earthly terrain have been rising up to meet you for centuries. The path we are on is the path to deeper learning, the way of integration, and the way to becoming more ourselves. We hold the power to change course but listening to our path is equally important.When we reject our current path, we reject what we are meant to experience to step into our highest purpose. Wherever we are today, may we offer gratitude and keep walking. 

 

APRIL 29 - MAY 5, 2018: BE PRESENT. 

Being present is a deeply courageous choice. It means showing up as we are right now, embracing this present moment for what it is rather than orchestrating it to be something else. Being present means choosing now regardless of life's weather. Being present now also means releasing lamentations of the past and refraining from future-tripping, even if we do so in contemplation of our highest good. What is sincerely for us will unfold before us; hard work is essential, yes, but so is being present to engage what is meant for us in order to grow, evolve, and integrate who we are in all we do. Simply put, being present now ensures we never miss what is for us when it arrives.

Surrender to what is, opening your hands to this present moment. Surrender is not resignation; it is accepting what is without internal resistance. Whatever our reality, we can learn to surrender by releasing our inner resistance to it. Authentic acceptance of the present can become the alchemist for our growth, integration, and transformation. 

 

MAY 20 - 26, 2018: LOVE THE SCARS

Every scar is an integral part of our story. Each one represents our shaping, our courage, our evolution, our practice. We need to love all our ourselves, including our scars, to authentically step into the fullness of who we really are.

JUNE 3 - 9, 2018: THERE ARE NO MISTAKES

What would you do this week if you believed there are no mistakes? We often attempt to manage or coordinate our actions to avoid falling or failing. We think that by avoiding or mitigating situations where pain will arise, we can navigate life with more ease. Yet all we're really doing is avoiding life to avoid pain. Lean into life this week; all of it, even the pain. Allow mistakes to occur; name them, own them, forgive them for they are simply telling you to move in a new direction. Allow all to be your teacher.

 

JUNE 10 - 16, 2018: LISTEN TO RESONANCE. 

What does resonance mean to you? The oldest definition of resonance is 'the quality of being deep, full, and reverberating to the soul.' Since then, we've evolved the definition to focus mostly on sounds. However, resonance can be found in every sense of our human experience. Resonance shows up in our thoughts, actions, bodies, and goals, to name a few. As we listen, we begin to notice where it exists and where it does not. This step is an essential part of our integration -- to integrate only what resonates further into our lives and to let the rest fall away. 

 

JUNE 17 - 23, 2018: ONE COURAGEOUS THING

Courage in practice can feel ethereal at times--something we can discuss ad nauseam yet challenging to wrap our arms and actions around in a really tangible way. So let's begin this week by choosing one thing -- one courageous thing we will do to move ourselves closer to our highest good. To leading, living, and loving more consciously. Just one thing, friends. 

JUNE 24 - 30, 2018: UNLEARN

Unlearning remains the most essential piece of learning. When we commit to shedding our antiquated beliefs, disempowering habits, and future-tripping thoughts, we step further into our integration of wholeness. Unlearning is a practice too. A conscious choosing of releasing all we've learned over time that no longer serves us or steps in the way of our path to wholehearted living, leading, loving, and listening.

JULY 8 - 14, 2018: I AM

I AM are the two most powerful words in the integration practice. As the saying goes, what we choose to follow these two words will shape our reality. This isn't to say that when we're sad, we shouldn't acknowledge our sorrow. On the contrary, emotions are markers in our journey to better understand exactly where we are and where our energy is being placed. The specific words which frequently follow I AM for us can illuminate where our integration of consciousness can deepen. 

 

JULY 15 - 21, 2018: REMEMBER

To become more of who we are in all we do, we often move through a time of unlearning. Unlearning begins with shedding all the pretenses, expectations, and 'shoulds' of our life, leadership, and our loving. Unlearning asks us to remember who we are beneath all we've added under the weight of beliefs, cultures, and responsibilities. Who do you remember yourself to be before the world told you who you are?

 

JULY 22 - 28, 2018: ONLY ABUNDANCE

There is no shortage. When we give our attention to the shortage of time, money, effort, or results, we create an energy of negative emotion within us, casting a shadow on the efforts we are making, the time we have been given, the money we do have, and the results we've already experienced.

This week, no matter our life situation, let's step further into abundance and the mindset of prosperity. Let's turn our attention toward that which we DO have--within us and around us. What we want may be deeply important but it is equally important to ground our intentions and energy in the spirit of abundance rather than a spirit of decline. 

 

WEEKLY INTENTIONS: AUGUST 2018

JULY 29 - AUGUST 4, 2018: PRACTICE CONSCIOUSNESS

We don't become conscious; we choose to be conscious. A subtle yet powerful difference.

In any given moment, we can integrate more of our inner voice into all we do. Consciousness is the bedrock of peace in any life situation. We can attain all the outer abundance this life  has to offer but without being conscious to who we really are, we'll be chasing a just-out-of-reach purpose and navigating ever-evolving discontent.

When we choose to be conscious in every moment--aware and awake to ourselves--peace becomes possible. Peace then courageously becomes the foundation of how we move through the day, interact with those we love, and engage our bodies, minds, and spirits. 

Abundance becomes a practice when consciousness becomes a practice. Simply put, the success we're all after is created from the inside out. Everything else is the long way around. 

AUGUST 5 - 11, 2018: ALLOW DISCOMFORT

When our awareness deepens, an invitation to take action from an integral place comes into view. Taking the first step forward is often the most daunting--in leadership, life, or love. Yet our awareness reminds us that to be in service to our purpose holds far more meaning than moments of discomfort. Be in service to your purpose this week. Allow discomfort when necessary to move forward with purposeful action. Nothing changes if nothing ever changes. 

AUGUST 12 - 18, 2018: BE HONEST

Honesty with each other can often come more easily than honesty with ourselves. We can live a very honest life in yet not be truthful with ourselves. The integration of who we are into all we do deepens when we get real and raw and open. This week, allow yourself to get honest and feel all of it. Your decisions, your indecisions, your actions, your inactions. This is courage in practice, friends. 

AUGUST 26 - SEPTEMBER 2, 2018: PERSPECTIVE

Perspective is everything. Our global culture is deeply focused on the next milestone, the next promotion, the next opportunity, the next chapter, the next toy, the next adventure, the next level of our potential...the next...the next. Yet when we give pause to the landscape perspective of our present moment, we reconnect with the success we already have, the potential we're already living, and the experiences we are gifted with every single day. This week, step back from what you think you need to have and take note of what you already do.

SEPTEMBER 2 - 8, 2018: REPEAT OF LAST WEEK

Allow raw intention into your daily life this week. Our bodies carry the energy of our raw intentions so listen to the wisdom being held in your muscles, bones, and tissues. What needs to be heard this week? 

What actions need to be taken to integrate our raw intention--our pure power--into what we do this week?

SEPTEMBER 16 - 22, 2018: INTEGRATE YOUR KNOWING

Maya Angelou used to say When we know better, we do better. The integration of our knowing, however, is a conscious daily practice. We can elect to know better yet still choose old patterns of doing simply because creating a new pattern of action will feel like a disruption to our current life and those within it. Yet sometimes disruption is healthy and necessary for positive change. What ‘knowing’ will you choose to begin integrating this week?

SEPTEMBER 23 - 29, 2018: LIGHT IS A CHOICE

When we choose what brings out the light in us, we choose well. Our energy expands, our purpose unfolds, and we return to ourselves in a more conscious way. Relationships that bring out our light, careers and businesses that illuminate our light, and responsibilities that cultivate the light within are deeply essential to our wellbeing and success. The world can often prioritize that which is heavy or labored. In many cultures, it is even a badge of honor to be stressed, busy, and constantly multi-tasking through our days and weeks. Savoring the work, projects, and experiences is often referred to as ‘vacation.’ This week, let’s turn our attention toward that which brings out the light within us in all we do.

SEPTEMBER 30 - OCTOBER 6, 2018: COURAGE IS WITHIN YOU.

Courage is in all of us. It isn’t finite or available for the select few on the world’s stage. It’s in every one of us. It’s in you. The world needs your courage now more than ever. In a time where division is high and truth is on trial, practicing our courage is paramount to our freedom and to living our highest purpose — the fullest expression of ourselves. As we head into a new week, select one area of your life you desire to practice more courage. Name it, write it down, and share it.

OCTOBER 7 - 13, 2018: NUDGE YOURSELF

Conformity is comfort. Being courageous in a culture of comfort can create fatigue, particularly with our support system is practicing more comfort than courage too. When we’re tired, we then crave comfort and our practice begins to wane or fall between the cracks of our everyday life. Here’s the thing about courage though. It doesn’t have to fall between the cracks—it shows up in how we live our life if we listen to the inner nudges. Courage in practice isn’t an extra thing—it is in everything.

Seek to practice this week with less affirmation or nudges from external influences. Listen to the nudges within you. Begin there.

OCTOBER 14 - 20, 2018: HABITS

Habits are the behaviors we engage with repetition and practice. Habits can serve our highest good or quietly allow us to drift away from ourselves over time. Pause to consider your habits in body, mind, and spirit.

The habits in body that awaken you, ground you, and support your physical health, activity and daily movement. The habits in mind that drive your inner dialogue and direct your focus and energy. The habits in spirit that bring you home to yourself, your joy, and those you love. This week, take note of how these habits are supporting the integration of who you are into all you do.
