In this edition of ASK US ANYTHING, we dive into a common question within this community and industry.

What exactly is coaching?

Coaching has rapidly become a common term individuals and industries use to describe a whole host of things. When I began this work, coaching was rarely discussed beyond the soccer field or gym. Now this label is everywhere.

Its growing popularity is fantastic yet anytime a term saturates our culture, it becomes easy to dilute its value and describe things that aren’t even close to the truth. Here’s a quick guide to the coaching experience, its benefits, and why investing in a coach can make all the difference.

I’ve had a coach myself for the past 15 years—sometimes more than one at a time based on the nature of collaboration—and the moments I’ve pushed myself more, stepped further into my own potential, and even had the courage to burn things down and start over have been when working alongside a coach. When I have faltered or grown apathetic in my development, they’ve been there to listen, engage, and challenge me to stay present, return to my values, and keep going. Learn more about coaching and what it can be for you below with our complimentary resource below. Enjoy!
